Motorhome-Camper – Europe – Richard Bingham
103 Chem. de Sabatier, 47150 Monflanquin, France
We are a retired Engineer (Rick) and University Lecturer (Rosi) and live in Sheffield, England. We also own a renovated barn in south-west France near Monflanquin which could also be part of an exchange as well as our motorhome.
Over the past 20 years we have travelled around most of Europe in our motorhome and also organised two exchanges, the first with an NZ couple and the second with a couple in Washington State USA. Both were a great success.
We want to return to the USA and New Zealand someday and love the freedom a motorhome would give us on the Pacific coast and Rocky Mountains
It is very difficult, if not impossible to get UK vehicle insurance for someone with a non-UK driving license but it is a different matter in France where we’d like to try obtaining temporary cover for your stay with our local agent.
We are pretty flexible on dates but a non-concurrent exchange would be preferable when we’d be able to pick you up from our nearest airports, which are Bergerac, Bordeaux and Toulouse. Our part of France has the best weather between May and October, outside those dates you should consider travelling further south towards the Mediterranean coast of Spain. All of Europe is motorhome friendly and you’ll find all the information you need about motorhome stopovers on Camper Contact at

Vehicle Info
Our Hymer 544 motorhome has a 2.7 litre diesel engine and is left hand drive with a manual stick shift gearbox.
The most comfortable sprung mattress bed is a pull down double above the cab and in addition you can convert the dinette into a double, and the couch into a generous single bed.
The kitchen has a gas/electric refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, crockery and cutlery storage, larder and a three burner gas hob. We do not have an oven or microwave. The bathroom has a cassette toilet, sink and shower. Hot water is provide by a gas boiler which also powers the central heating. No generator is fitted although we do have a 240volt inverter driven from a pair of leisure batteries for powering your laptop etc.
There is a lot of storage beneath the seats and under the floor, accessible from outside.
