Responsible for the treatment

Personal data collected through this website is processed by Black Lava S.L. (CIF B24806051), trading as Swap My Van, registered at Calle Orquídea 5, El Médano, 38612, Spain. You can exercise your rights by emailing admin@swapmyvan.com.

Purpose of processing

• Manage your registration and membership, and your participation in our community.
• Inform you about our products and services when requested through forms or email.
• Answer and manage your queries, comments and suggestions.
• Understand website usage — pages visited, number of visits, and general activity — using aggregated statistics that don't identify you individually.

Legal basis

Consent. Personal data obtained through forms on the website is processed solely based on the consent you grant, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Legitimate interest. Aggregated statistical information is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest, and does not identify individual users.

Recipients

We don't sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes. To operate the website, we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf as necessary to run the service:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Resend — delivers transactional emails (e.g. notifying you of a new message).
• hCaptcha — helps us detect automated bots on login and signup.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, they do so under their own applicable data protection safeguards. We do not otherwise share your data with third parties except where legally required.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the website — there is no advertising or tracking on Swap My Van. Specifically:

• Login session cookie(set by Supabase) — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it, you'd be logged out on every page load.
• hCaptcha cookie — set only on the login and signup pages, to help distinguish real visitors from automated bots.

Because these cookies are necessary for the website to function, we don't need to ask for your consent to use them, in line with applicable ePrivacy rules. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the site may not work correctly if you do.

Data retention

Data provided to receive communications is kept until you request its deletion or withdraw your consent. Data sent to contact us is kept as long as necessary for that purpose. Traffic data and web statistics are kept for up to three years.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, portability, limitation and opposition to processing by writing to admin@swapmyvan.com, along with an official document identifying you. In case of disagreement, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

Child protection policy

Anyone who provides data through the forms on this website and accepts its processing formally declares to be over 18 years of age. Access to and use of this website by anyone under 18 is prohibited. Parents and guardians of minors are solely responsible if a minor submits their data through the website.
